Things are moving rapidly with the Covid-19 crisis and we have taken the very difficult decision to ask our pop-up organisers to cancel or postpone any planned events which involve gatherings of people, in any form.

It now looks as if the peak of the outbreak may be happening in May, and we do not feel it would be responsible to organise anything that might spread this virus, putting lives at risk and increasing the burden on the NHS.

That doesn’t mean we’re giving up in our fight for a cycle-friendly Scotland, however. We are still considering possible options for other actions that would be compatible with social distancing or self-isolation, to take place over the planned POP weekend of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd May. Watch this space for more details, or contact us with your own ideas.

We would like to thank all of our organisers for the work they’ve put in so far, and their enthusiasm and inventiveness up to now – it was all shaping up to be an amazing weekend of action and we’re gutted that it’s not going ahead in the way we had envisioned.

We’re now looking ahead to November and the UN Climate Conference in Glasgow. Who’s up for a PoP on COP?
