As our sidebar countdown widget makes all too painfully clear, we have less than three weeks to go before we all gather at the Meadows for our mass ride on Parliament. All of the relevant permissions have now been granted, and our absolute top priority is to get as many ‘bums on bikes’ as we can for the big day. And that’s where we need YOUR help. As you may have noticed we’ve got a resources page where our (fab) posters are available as PDFs for downloading and printing. We’ve also just added a pdf for handlebar flyers on the same page. These can be printed double-sided and then cut out and quickly attached to any bikes you come across.
You’ve all been doing a great job so far tweeting and blogging and generally spreading the word about Pedal on Parliament and our petition, but we need more! We need you to get out there if you possibly can with the posters and flyers, right across Scotland. Gather together your fellow cyclists and do what you can in your town in a ‘tour des bikeshops‘ to get your local retailers to put up a poster. But don’t stop at bike shops: try asking your local outdoor retailers, cafes, pubs, hairdressers, libraries or schools if they’ll put up a poster. Let no bike go unadorned without its POP flyer. And when you’ve got the poster up or the bikes flyered, why not take a picture and let us know on twitter, facebook so we can tell the world.
