Pedal on Parliament are delighted that one of our organisers, Sally Hinchcliffe, was a finalist in the 2012 Sheila McKechnie awards in the Transport Campaigner category. The award is aimed at supporting new campaigners and their campaigns and should help us build our network both in Scotland and more widely. Finalists as well as winners are given access to advice and workshops which should be invaluable as we continue to press for change in Scotland. This is a recognition of how far we’ve come in just six short months – as well as a spur to keep on campaigning to see Scotland become a cycle friendly nation.
We would also like to congratulate the winner of the Transport award, Bernie Reddington of Action for Blind People
